It seems completely silly to me that we don't have a Swap section with all the swap subforums in it.

Yeah why are swaps like M30 and V8 in engines and drivetrain with stock e30 engines but 24v is separate?
And why is there a forum for all V8s when the M6x and domestic ones don't have much in common. domestic V8s should be in with other swaps and M6x should be its own forum since 90% of the V8 forum is m6x stuff anyway.
But "other swaps" is stuck with M30s? Other swaps should be a separate forum. Doesn't really make any sense to have a forum for M30 and other swaps as one forum.
What about N52 or N54, where would that go, it's 24v swap but there's no forum for it there... only the m50/m52/s50/s52 and then the s38 one. S38 has more in common with the m30 than the 24v swaps. But S38 gets it's own forum and m30 is in with "other swaps"?
M54 has more in common with m50/m52 than the s54.
It's all a mess and needs to be rethought.Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

I'll reply about the V8 forum. At the time there was talk about an LSx forum and a BMW V8 forum. But there wasn't much traffic of either so both were combined. I know it would be easy to use the search button when looking for a LSx swap or M60 swap in the V8 section. But that escapes some members logical thinking skills on here, and at this current point in time i'd say leave the V8 one alone. Cause other wise we'll have so many different forums it would be a bigger mess!
As for the other forums, i'll let the others chime in on that. And i let them know about this thread.

But a large majority of what's on the V8 forum is m6x. So m6x has enough discussion for it's own forum, "other" v8's don't. So just take "other swaps" off m30 (it's strange that they are grouped together like that in the first place) and make "other swaps" it's own forum (domestic v8 included).
And all the other stuff I mentioned...
Don't mistake it for making it sound like we need more forums (we definitely don't). It's just that the way they are grouped together doesn't make sense and needs to be rethought.(see points I made in last post)Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

And all V8's have to be grouped together because they don't get enough posts? yet M54/S54 forum very few posts and they have their own forum separate from other 24v swaps. And S38 has less content than any of them yet it has it's own forum, and the M30 has way more content than S38 yet it's for some reason grouped with other swaps. None of it really makes any sense and the V8s being all together is just one of the many things that is poorly thought out as I said originally.Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>
