Like AdBlock but want to support R3V? Come in here!

I realized that my AdBlock was hurting r3v's income via ads. So, I decided to fix it. Just for r3v, though.

With this fix, AdBlock will still work for all the other sites you want it to work for, such as YouTube and the likes.

Here is an Imgur album that gives all the steps for AdBlock on Chrome. The steps are described under the image. Click on the right side of the image to progress through.

Discover the magic of the internet at Imgur, a community powered entertainment destination. Lift your spirits with funny jokes, trending memes, entertaining gifs, inspiring stories, viral videos, and so much more from users.

Hope this helps r3v's revenue a little bit!

does r3v really lose money every time my browser automatically blocks an r3v ad?

      How does that work?

      Legitimately curious here...

iirc, it's based on amounts of views. I'm no expert in website coding so maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in. I they count views via number of loads, which AdBlock blocks the loading of a certain feature of a website. Technically, you can have AdBlock block the r3v logo every time you come here...

It didn't work for me because it was inputting it as:

          http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/index.php/$documents

So the variable in the url was placed after index.php when it should have been placed after /board/ in order to cover the whole website.

Also, this was more of a P.S.A. than anything...

              Thank you very much.

I have been rather vocal on my hatred toward Adblock and I appreciate you doing the right thing to help keep this place going.

It would be nice if the banner ad on top of the page did not screw up the page layout. Every other forum that I use does just fine, only R3v's ad layout actively makes R3v more annoying to browse.

I would have disabled adblock on r3v long ago if I knew that adblock actually directly diminished income. I thought the advertising companies paid on a basis of who clicked on the ads.

Like I said before in a different thread, I didn't install adblock for r3v.

I def want to support r3v in any way I can!

I would have to agree. It doesn't screw it up too much for me, it just extends to the right a little extra. Making the website scaled to fit both 16:9 and 4:3 screen resolutions would be dandy.

The easy solution would be to just put the ad below the top banner.

My resolution is 1366x768 which I think is pretty common for laptops.
