If this is a repost, I appologize, I looked and did not see this request.

I wish to bring to your attention the classified section of the forums. More recently especially people have been getting scammed and other come with completely unreasonable prices and just ends up causing arguments. What I thought was a good response to this, which was put on theRPF put in place, was to have a minimum post count of 20-30 posts and a minimum waiting period of 30-40 active days. In this trial period the user could not purchase or sell goods. I have held my tongue on so many of these noobs, just for the sheer face that I don’t want to be on timeout. But the fact remains that the seller has the right to post anything and not suffer consequences for their stupidity. Or others that join just to sell something and rip members off.

I would ask the r3v gods to hear my plea.

I don't know what the answer is, though I don't think post count is it. IMO the time period is a better solution, but I don't think it's much of a deterrent either. If someone has to be a forum member for 30/60/90/whatever number of days before they can sell, why would they simply not just plan for that?

I think part of the problem is that it's too easy to get a (fake/temporary) PayPal account.

Hopefully once James et al get around to upgrading the vBull software for this forum we can implement the iTrader system. It's a start.

Something needs to be done. There's a noob right now in the for sale section selling a bunch of items...he just signed up today and by the looks came on here to just sell...maybe scam?

I've passed up MANY good deals just because the seller was a noob. I would hate to have to drive across the country to pound the crap out of somebody.

It seems there is little (no?) enforcement of this rule:

-If listing multiple items, post them in one thread. Exceptions are cars and wheels.

Lots of us went to the trouble to put all the stuff we have for sale into a single thread, though there seems to be a handful of sellers on here (that all they do is post FS threads; no other contributions to the community or its discussions) who post one part per thread and are allowed to continue to do it. If it's going to be a rule, there should be better enforcement of it. Otherwise, it's kind of pointless to have it as a rule.
