    Classified "Feeler"

[rant]So many damn feeler's it seems lately. Not sure about the rules but a "feeler" seems to be a way of posting a FS without a price. Either they're for sale or they aren't. Best way to "feel" out a buyer is to put the price you'd unload it for. If it's too high, noone bites. Plus I'd like to make it required to have your location in your profile if you post FS. Seems like too many threads get two insta-replies "post a price" and "where u located". I understand moderator approval for each FS item would be a pain in the arse, but it seems too frequent for my taste.

While I'm on it, I know the minimum post thing has been tossed around for the classified's. I've bought some stuff from Noob's and been happy with the transaction. My gripe is with groupbuys. GB's take a significant amount of planning and responsibility and if there was a minimum post requirement or at least a positive feedback requirement, I'd feel better. [/rant]

I agree with the location thing- and to a lesser extent the feeler thing. It continues to amaze me the number of idiots who post up stuff like "WTB- M20 engine, local only" and then fail to give their location. Or people who post up a set of wheels or something large FS and don't give their location.

Feeler posts can get out of hand, but I don't think they're that bad lately.

I consider those very minor annoyances at most, and extensive regulation of the FS board would simply clog it up and make it more difficult to sell things.

I do believe it would be nice to have at least a little security though in the FS section. A minimum post count would probably limit our selection of things being posted from users of other boards, but it would be nice if something was in place. I've never seen it happen on this board before, but I've heard of it happening on e30tech and other forums.
