No Strikethrough Script?

I just thought this odd.

If you don't know what Strikethrough is, it is a word with a dash through it ("-word-"; but it goes all the way through the word so it looks like it's crossed out)


IIRC; other forums running vBulletin have a Strikethrough option, just found it peculiar r3v doesn't have that option

I've seen it on other forums, and wondered what it was about. But wouldn't it be easier to just erase the word instead if crossing it out plus look a lot cleaner.

I find it has more use in sarcastic/tongue in cheek humor instances; like something that shouldn't be said but is said anyway. I use it on other forums and it helps get sarcasm and satire off easier through a textual media.


I just thought it was a cool feature just to have. Didn't know if you can activate it or have it stashed in the admin panel somewhere so I thought to ask

I'd also like this. Sometimes I want to correct the phrasing of a post but don't want to appear disingenuous about it. This is especially true if people have already started replying with quotes. It looks weird if you're reading quoted sections that aren't in the original post.

I'd also like to use it in for sale things. This is another time where you want to let people know that the previous wording is no longer valid, yet you want to keep a record that it actually was said.

I just use gray text instead. That way people don't PM me for things I sold months ago.
