WTF is wrong with the server?

Since the beginning of June, the server page loads have been bogging down.

I can click a link and it sit for almost a minute before it loads. all the while, also having clicked another link on that page and open in new window and sometimes it comes up sooner that the original click.

im just wondering if anyone has taken notice to investigate and take corrective action?

        fuck...
BFC had issues, it took them a couple months to admit the problem with their version of vB conflicting with a recent update to IE.

this may correlate with my change to FF a little while before this.
i need to test further. any thoughts about how to check on related FF+vB communicaiton?

I take all reports of speed issues/server issues very seriously, and to be honest I have yet to receive any complaints whatsoever, except the occasional wow the site is fast comment.

What browser as you using? IE is a complete piece of shit, and should only be used if you require ActiveX controls (IE Microsoft sites, or poorly coded ones) We don't use any IE specific code, and mainly design toward Firefox, Bon Echo, Opera, and Safari.

It could also be a slow router between you and us, if you go to your command prompt (start, run, cmd) and type tracert www.r3vlimited.com you can see where it bogs down, simply post that here if you are unsure.

It should look something like this..

            Code:
traceroute to [url]www.r3vlimited.com[/url] (209.147.122.138), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
             1 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 1.225 ms 0.805 ms 0.738 ms
             2 10.101.0.1 (10.101.0.1) 7.213 ms 6.081 ms 10.040 ms

im using fire fox. i had no issues with ie. i would say, that every few clicks, i have to re-click a link to get it kickstarted.
the tracert looks normal ... im still trying to figure out where this issue resides with.

              Mozilla FF ver 4.0.0.2

edit: it hasnt done it all day so far. when i first saw it happen, i thought it had to do with server load - there were over 100 viewers that day. (if you notice, we have been setting viewer records lately. its all these lame noobs fuckin up my r3v-browsing game)
again, the initial click gets lagged, but if you click the same link to open in another window, it can load faster than the original. i think thats a valid scenerio... if it helps explain any of my issues.

Just as fast as ever for me. Seems like James is working good voodoo.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

i would totally agree, r3v has been the fastest forum my presence has graced.... even under jasons brothers hands.
i just like to help when i can - wanted to share some issues i have been having, maybe voicing what others havent and get a head start on something easily remedied

edit: like making this post... it got stuck. i clicked it ONE EXTRA TIME and look what happened!!!

i'm a long time forum user and i never double post. this is a feat in my book! whoohoo!

                        firefox finally died on me.

i installed SlimBrowser... i dont have that problem anymore with the forums locking up. I found that issue on many sites actually.
but this browser is awesome. it beats IE and FF hands down.
