Suggest no edits to sold items in FS section

I'd like to suggest that people who sell their items do not go back and edit out the original post, especially the price. It's nice to have a history of what things have sold for.

We won't be doing that. If people don't go through and edit their thread titles and prices, people will assume that items are still for sale. Beyond that, there are plenty of other thread for all of the same items that haven't been edited, try using the search function.

Can't they just add a post to the thread saying it's sold?

I think it's best if the edit their first post so people don't have to thumb through every post in the thread to see if it sold or that the price changed.

I don't mind them editing the first post - adding a "SOLD" tag, but they should at least leave the price and the description. They shouldn't wipe out the ENTIRE post and put "SOLD" or similar. What I'm referring to is:

          before:

          Title: "FS: E30 convertible parts"
Body: "fenders, $100. top, $200. engine $300. wheels, $500, yada, yada, etc, etc"

          after it's sold:

          Title: "FS: E30 convertible parts"
          Body: "SOLD"

There's no record of what was sold or for how much he/she was asking.

If you want to know what something is worth, ask.

I really like how you can't edit posts on S14.net. You are able to edit them for a couple hours IIRC. How we could combat this is if you can edit the title to say *sold*
