think we should have a vert/touring if not two different ones as child subforums as part of the general appearance or the body&paint subforums being that these models are so different from the standard 2dr/4dr models. they have a competely different roof system along with the brake lights etc..etc..etc..

I owned a vert for 3 years...wish I still had it. There aren't THAT many differences. I think the differences can be covered if there were 3 stickied threads but not an entire subforum. You'd see the same thread over and overComment

there are only like 3 touring owners on here. and I'm willing to sell mine. So maybe we'd be down to 2Originally posted by bluntcan you get me a deal on cases of their (fiji) bottled water? i wash my 02 in that shitComment

If any one deserves its own sub-forum, it would be the M3. Most M3 owners just go directly to S14.net anyways so doing such may not be worthwhile (not many members here own E30 M3's).
Have fun over at M42club.Comment

A separate cabrio forum wouldn't get my vote......
While there are a lot of differences, how many threads do you see where people have cab specific problems? How many threads are there with helpful information for you and your car that aren't cab specific?
It's an E30 without a roof for most things that cause trouble. The fact that we have a double firewall in the trunk doesn't cause anybody problems (except Luke) Or the fact our cars have a large door sill reinforcement, but the stuff that causes problems like lighting, clusters, and engine electronics is the same as any other e30. There are a lot of differences, but they are mainly stupid stuff like the fact our rear view mirror is glued on instead of on a bracket. Who cares?
All of the things that come to mind that trip people up are rear speaker depth, rear defogger, power top mechanism, window adjustment, and the locations of a few things that BMW felt like moving around for the cabs like grounding points. Easily handled in maybe a couple stickies that no one will ever read, or god forbid someone actually search as they have all been covered.
Worth it's own section?
Bet if one is made, it will have five topics, one with a good bit of posts, the rest one or two posts, and then it will be dead.-Dave

What is nice about having specific forums, is that it makes searching much easier, and there are less noob questions!
If I were to have model subforums they would be this:
Special Models / Chassis
ix
convertible
M3
Other (touring, baur)
Engines
M10
M20 (subforums for i, e, and 2.3)
M30/M102/M106
M50/S50/x
M42
