    Powder coating

    Hi everyone,

Anyone know powder coating services here in Melbourne that does a good job & doesn't cost an arm & leg?

I'm planning on doing a Ground Control coilover conversion but I really wanted to powder coat the standard shock first. Considering its 20+ yrs old, a fresh paint wouldn't hurt.

If not, I was thinking of just painting it with the same paint you use for brake calipers or engine covers. Any thoughts? Thx

    Hey man
I assume you mean painting the strut housing?
If your going GC your going to have to get them cut and welded to accommodate the shorter shocks. Have a look if anyone else is doing it as the powder coating apparently can compromise some metals strength.
Plus it's pretty expensive for a cosmetic mod that no one is going to see.
I would say rattle can if you take your time and prep it.
Otherwise save your cash and get h&r race springs and not have to worry about cutting and welding.
    Just my 2c

Might just try rattle can. Thanks for the info
