you're funny fool, you're getting this guy all paranoid for no reason. I'm sure people act like crazy here it's because they're always in a rush to get to their destination., in comparison to POTATOVILLE where everything is more laid back and moves at a slower pace, I guess it's easy to call or categorize Cali as king of the douchebag states

HAHAHA No, he's not scaring me. Quite contrary to that, I'm excited to be somewhere that has lots to do. Back in the day I always said I never would live there. But, ya know - I may just live it up. After a year, they may move me somewhere else in the country, so it's a great opportunity to start off with a higher salary and get a feel for the area.

I once did my normal - in and out of traffic down eagle road back in the day and some old guy in a pickup yelled out his window "Go back to California!" I laughed pretty hard.

Farbin - what brought you to Boise, anyway? Job related I'd assume?

Thanks! You're absolutely right about it being safe - according to this map (when clicking on safety) it's safer than Carson and Long Beach! http://lalife.com/Torrance

Don't forget I spent 27 years in Southern California, so I do have a leg to stand on when I talk trash. I don't really miss much except the access to "stuff", whatever that may be, (Thai food delivered at 4AM, Medical Buds delivered in a Prius at 10PM, ten Best Buys to pick from, etc.) and my friends. Everything here is quite laid back, and even going into town (~60,000 population) kinda spooks me from there being too much, and too many people around.

I'm actually out on the Eastern side, and myself and some close family decided that California was no longer the place for us, so we found something more our style. To be honest I'm on the job hunt out here.

I've lived in South Central, West LA, Mid City (Koreatown), Culver City, Bev. Hills, Santa Monica, San Fernando, Sylmar, Valencia.........shit I lived in too many places and no, not out of a van or a cardboard box :giggle: I stayed with a friend in Pomona for like 2 months also so I know about SoCal neighborhoods.

                  i'm a southbay local :)

i live in Lawndale/North Redondo (southbay area) and I pay $2000 per month for a two bedroom house with my own two car indoor garage and 5 car outdoor garage.

i found a 3brdm house in Gardena which is a mile away from where my house is currently and it's clean which is going for $1600 per month (i may move in here cuz it's cheaper and bigger).

otherwise, places like torrance, gardena, parts of lawndale, parts of hawthorne, parts of lomita, parts of carson and some parts of north redondo are affordable which would be within your budget.

are you looking for a roommate? hahaha 'cuz i am and i know DK is too lol. i found a 4 bdrm, 3.5 bath, 3 car garage in carson going for $2000 per month and it's ginourmous.
