HID Concerns

How many of you guys get pulled over for the HIDs in cali?
The law doesn't really make sense for most of our cars considering we have projectors. I don't want more shit to worry about though. Im gonna pick up some 55w 5k ddm units for my 89. So not look at me knarly blue or anything. Just a tasteful light upgrade. Thanks guys

i think its more of the fact that if you blind people, you will get a ticket. just point them downwards :)

Well my car is lowered so its not like im blinding anyone thats for sure. If anything they are blinding me. I have yet to get pulled over for mine and they are 6k aaaand I have yellow hid 6k fog lights. My friend Mitch has gotten pulled over for his hids but I have not had any problems.

5oook won't get you pulled over at all. And if I'm not mistaken I've heard the 55watt has less color to them than the 35watt. Mine are the color of an escalade. Wich is kinda purple at the cut off.

I just got HIDs for my fogs too and never been pulled over!

i have the 55w 5k hi-low ddm kit, never been pulled over for them. light is slightly blue on startup, but turns into blazing white light.

i have followed/been followed by tons of officers, even high-beamed an oncoming police car once because he had his takedown lights on, and i mistook them for roof mounted driving lights, like those on jeeps (blinded the shit out of me). i don't think you'll have any problems, especially if you have ellipsoids. i'm running my HIDs in the hella h4 conversions.

I have been pulled over before for mine. Only reason was because I had them aimed up to blind the assholes in the lifted trucks in my area. I dont understand how those guys dont get pulled over for blinding people. Hell stock Tundras blind me as well as Prius' and Acura TLs.

I have 55w 8k in the lows and 35w 6k in the highs. The 8k 55w kit is actually a lighter blue than my 35w 6k kit. Just remember that when purchasing a 55w kit. They are always whiter than anticipated.

And for the record, as long as your shit isnt blinding people then you should be just fine. The only other time I got pulled over for my lights was when I had my 3K bulbs in my lows. So once again, you'll be fine.

had mine for about a month an a half on this car and I've been flashed by a few ppl but no police issues. 55w 45k. Although i am kinda across the country

sorry i had no key board when i put that post up. just wanted to give an exampled of what i can run in a city with no problems at all. im running 55w's from ddm in the same color as ieatpeople mounted in hella 500's. no problem at all. i love them. i see so many people driving around in sf and around the bay area that have hid's and i have never seen or herd of anyone i know getting pulled over for them. i think if you get pulled over for hid's there is an alternative reason behind the officer pulling you over.

i run 5k 35w in my ellipsoid's and 4k 35w in my h4 converted benz never any problems, i just made sure they were level and not up in the air looking for helicopters at night

55w 6k's for around a year and I've never had any problems. I've had some fuckers flash me, but no cop trouble.
