did the head gasket on saterday with new head bolts and intake gasket set. its running ruff, leaking oil , eats up gas like crazy and is uber slow. Its fine for around town driving but is no way reliable. I feel now theres no reason to dump money on a eta engine now. Ill have near 1k in a month (not pay checks) Theres a few b25's floting around and a few m50s for cheap like this

Just took an engine off of a 1992 325I
Engine is in good running condition
$550 includes the ecu and wiring harness
It's a European engine

i can afford an m5x or an s5x, but i love my m20 and i'd rather turbo an m20 than get an m5x or s5x just 'cuz it's cheaper in general and cheaper in the long run.

also, i'm just going by the guys i know who have had or still have m5x/s5x ahem ahem (don't want to mention their names) and have put out more money than the person i know who turbo'd an m20 and was still able to cut cost lol. moreover, the m20 turbo smooooked the m5x/s5x and whuuuuh :)

I still think it's pretty silly to do all of that fucking work and give up, just so you can make an excuse to toy around with another engine that will probably be just as big or bigger pain in the ARS to deal with., with that said I wish you good luck my furry and feathery friend, cause all swaps come with an expensive price tag.

it was acting bad b4 i opened it up lol it was burning a qt every 1000miles , did you see the picks?

very very dirty with loads of carbon and oil deposits



had dirty and oil in the intake manifold


very clean hua?




after i cleaned it


very clean piston tops




the eng was kinda clean on the outside but inside was just WOW , head gasket was poped at 3 spots that why it was buring so much oil.

anyways i may just put a m20b25 in and be happy

I don't regret my swap all that much, but knowing what I know now, and having the right connections, I could've spent my money more wisely...
