They send their wheels to Lenco, in Anaheim for a soda ash dip. Aluminum wheels come out perfect - fully stripped doesn't touch the aluminum. I've had mesh, spoke, etc done & they always come out ready to fix curb rash & prime or polish. By far the quickest, most complete & at $10/wheel beats most strippers. -

They had a booth at bimmerfest. Pretty nice looking finish on the black chrome. Dont forget about LAX wheels. They quoted me $300 for curb repair, strip, powder coat, and polishing the lips on my style 5s.Leave a comment:

a set of stock weaves and want to repaint them, nothing crazy
theyre stock wheels but maybe a gunmetal grey with a silver
maybe polished lip.Leave a comment:

I saw a gallon of Aircraft Stripper at Kragen. I think it said "gel", is that the right stuff then?
I'm gonna use it to strip and refurbish these wheels for practice:

There's a lot of little areas to get paint out of!Leave a comment:

My chrome shop that used to do all the chrome work on overhaulin strictly used aircraft stripper brand. Acid baths would through out the tolerances for motorcycle wheels and the bearings would prematurely wear out.Leave a comment:

Gel Paint stripper.
"Jaspers" is the crap I use and it'll peel ugly off a fat chick (if applied thick enough).Leave a comment:

I used that stuff on weaves before, and it's still a pain to get all the paint and residue out of every little spoke.Leave a comment:

wheel stripping/dipping in socal
Anybody have any recommendations on a place that does chemical stripping on wheels around SoCal? I have some mesh wheels to strip, and don't want them soda blasted because I want to polish the lips and still have thumbs left...
