Btw, hr2l, there's fresh castrol gtx 20w50 in that motor. The valves are adjusted a little on the low side so it's not going to get much quieter than that.

i bought e30. zoeb bought it from me. zoeb bought motor. kalim rebuilt and swapped it in. zoeb sold e30 to HR2L after picking up e36.

I kinda wondered since he works at SE and has a car with broken central locking. So familiar, haha.

I've found the ABS light is almost always the relay, but check your sensors too. The fog light bulbs are H3

FYI ALWAYS do an m20 valve adjustment cold. there are hot adj but it never works correctly.

I have the pesky Anti-Lock light, I think it may be the relay... And just noticed one of my fog light bulbs decided it didn't like life anymore. What size bulb par chance does it run? Recommendations in terms of brightness/color?

Very easy if you've done it on other motors. You just need to loosen a 10mm nut for each rocker and adjust the eccentric to spec.

Just don't expect it to quiet down completely. M20s are a little tappy by design. ;)

You should also make sure the oil spray bar is working correctly. You'll see it with the valve cover removed.

Decided to run the 20w50 anyhow figuring theses motors prefer a heavier weight oil then newer motors, Plus its a higher mileage motor so I'm sure it will like the heavier weight (as we don't get cold enough, and its spring/summer) and with the VR1 it will love the extra zinc/phosphorus in the oil.
