Distributor cap, or Distributor as well as wires? Just trying to cover all the basis as you know this is my DD and my new baby! :)

I took a drive in my e30 today just to be in a/c. You'd think this school could afford to cool their students.

Cool, I will replace the cap when I get a chance. The cars runs cool. Only issue I'm having right now is the thermostat/temp gauge in car is fucked up. It tweaks out and jumps around like crazy!!!

did you do full conversion or did you just swap the caps which i hear risks the hoses deteriorating or something like that.

Pick N Pulls are your best friend. I believe your 6 button OBC is not functional as well unless it was replaced since the last time I saw it

Nah it works, except the outside temp gauge, but I think its because there is not external ambient temp sensor installed? Reads -22 degrees! LULZ!!! Other then that it works great, Time, Date, Memo. Only other issue is the Anti-Lock (ABS) light is on. :(

Anything I should be aware of in terms of maintenance? Not sure what was new, replaced, cleaned up? Just trying to get an idea of what has been repaired and what I might want to look into here in the next few months to keep her running strong.

What type of diff fluid do you use or recommend as well as transmission fluid?
Just about all of the bottom end oil seals were replaced when I replaced the motor. Preventatively replaced that annoying coolant pipe gasket at the back of the head and resealed the throttle body. I didn't touch the intake manifold or exhaust manifold gaskets because they were sealing well. Fresh oil and filter. Plugs were in good shape. Checked the valve adjustment - all valves were good and consistent. New valve cover gasket. Coolant temp sensor (not sender) is also brand new.

Keep an eye on power steering fluid level. The hoses and clamps looked like they were replaced at some point. The clamps are the screw-on type as opposed to the one-time-use ear clamps. A couple were too loose (one up near the reservoir, the other on the metal pipe going to the rack) and there were some leaks from those places so I tightened them up. I didn't see any more leaks after that.

Cruise control is disabled at the moment because the bowden cable needs the adjustable screw put back on the end. I don't know about the condition of the control unit itself.

The whole clutch looked to be in great shape. Flex disc at the front of the drive shaft is still in one piece, but was starting to show small cracks. Normal wear, but it'll start to tear and cause vibration at some point. Could take a while for any symptoms to show up.

I prefer Royal Purple or Redline fluids for the trans and diff.

The cap and rotor looked good so I just sanded the contact areas clean. No unusual wear, carbon tracking, etc.

The coolant needs to be bled again.
