I know that they've been OWNED by VW for the past 10 years or so, but that doesn't give VW the rights to the Bentley legacy. :p

And I was clear not to say Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche, Audi, or Lamborghini. Even though all those cars may be made by VW, and have VW powerplants, they aren't truly VWs.

All the strictly VW models are weak IMO. They've made some great motors, but fail to put the power to the proper wheels. If more VWs were AWD or even RWD, I would like a lot more of them.

Land Rover was made by both BMW and Ford, but they were never Fords or BMWs. In order to take ownership like that, you need to be the one that created the company name and image. ;)

Well from my personal experience iv never not liked someone who drove an e36, because we both share love for the cars.. But that depends because like those e36 retards that were doing donuts in the parking lot at DOCK were idiots.. Mostly everyone knows not to do that kinda shit..

And i agree, a lot of the vw's are underpowered and just kinda remind me of a geo metro. But the cars themselves have a lot of soul and history. And i dont know about you but i would love an AWD 300hp gti. Nothing wrong with that.

BMW did not create MINI but everyone see the brand as a BMW. MINI purist don't accept the new brand. Same with bentley. VW stripped the soul off the brand and basically used nothing but them name plate. It was their way of dealing with the failure of the phaeton.
