Need referrals for a good mechanic

I would like to have the items below installed on my e30 89 325is:

    Skip plate
    JOM adjustable suspension kit
Control arms and m3 off-set bushings
    Front Rotors resurfaced
    Rear strut brace

I am not looking for RAPE me prices, but I am not looking to pay for a Mr. Mickey Mouse worker... Looking for a FAIR DEAL...

Tired of taking my car to the shop, being RAPED and them saying, THANK YOU come again...

PM or Post... I've seen post for Castro's and Tng before, but open to anyone capable of doing a good job... I can even assist in the process...

Feel free to PM me with a quote or estimate cost for the job...

    Thanks...

AutoX w/ a Roof Rack for extra Aerodynamics...

Castros all the way. But I think they charge you double if you help. Don't forget to have them add the m3 drop links for your sway bar.

Can't go wrong with Castro's or TNG, but e30 Motor Werks is another contender and might be closer to you.

Word, except for the rotor resurfacing, a good backyard mechanic would be your cheapest option for the kind of work you want done. Who are the better local shade tree mechanics on r3v?

I don't think he's in to men.

On a more serious note I think the installation price will depend on what skid plate your installing. For example the peerless one requires welding.

You can definitely do some of the work yourself:
                      Rear strut brace:
                      1) Remove or bend the trunk carpet covers that cover the insides of your quarter panel by removing the tail light bulb cover and misc. clips.
                      2) Remove 4 nuts from rear strut. 13mm nuts. 2 per strut, 4 total.
                      3) Install rear strut bar. Try jacking up the car from either side or the rear diff to flex the body in order to get the bar to fit if that's your case.
                      4) Reinstall everything.
                      5) Have a beer for your hard work and enjoy!

                      Resurfacing rotors:
                      1) If doing by hand, loosen up the lug nuts but do not remove them while the car is sitting on the ground. 17mm socket or stock tire iron.
                      2) Jack up the front and/or rear of the car and remove the wheels.
                      3) Remove 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the carrier/spindle.
                      4) Detach the abs line and brake line. I believe they are held in by either a
single bolt or rubber grommet. Or even both.
                      5) Slide caliper of rotor and hang up the caliper with a bungee cord or rope so it isn't just dangling by the brake line.
                      6) Remove the single Allen screw that holds your rotor to the hub. Make sure you use the proper size Allen key and some wd40 because it will strip out easily if not.
                      7) Remove the rotor from the hub. You might need to give it some blows from a hammer to loosen it up if it siezed.
                      8) Go to star auto parts or any brake shop and have your rotor checked for thickness and then turned.
                      9) Reinstall everything in reverse order. This is also a good time to goop on some anti squeak lube. I like the red kind that comes in a bottle.
                      10) Bam! No more brake shimmy and uneasy feeling.

As for the skid plate, coilovers, and cab/control arms, you can pay to have them done, or do it yourself. It really isn't all that complicated. Plus, if you do it yourself, it is way more gratifying and you will gain expirience. All cars are basically made the same in regards to compenents and sometimes location. Sure you can pay someone to do it, but not only do you save money doing it yourself, the knowledge you aquired is yours to keep for life. -David.

castros is cheap, and they do good work. e30 motor werks can suck it purely because peerless is a douche. TNG closed their doors recently.

If you want super cheap though, I can do all of that except turn your rotors, but the local NAPA will do that for cheap.

Bring that shit to my house and we can do all that shit except turn the rotors. But I used to work at the Firestone down the street so we could just take them there and get them turned for free.
