I'm not sure if this belong both here and/or the 24v forum but I'd figured it fits most here since I'm from California. I know there are quite a few members here in California that got their swap barred and I hopefully will join the club soon. I have a general idea of what is neccessary and the process but can anyone tell me the complete and exact process? I think it'll be very helpful to myself and other barred 24v prospects.
I currently have an Alpineweiss late model which I bought a complete 1995 e36 m3 for my swap. I am using the complete engine and transmission along with the matching silver 506 dme for my swap when I'm done rebuilding it. I also plan on installing all the emission items such as the charcoal canister and evap system in their original placement. I'm going to use the factory cast iron manifolds with stock cats and a modified stock exhaust. Is there any other components that I should salvage from the e36 m3?
Basically, I want to know where you got it done at, what you needed to do, how long it took, how much it cost, and if any station is more lienient than others.
Any information is much appreciated! -David
