Job Opening: Tire/Wheel Technician and Warehouse Assistant in SF East Bay (PT/FT)

    .

We're is a growing e-commerce distributor of high performance automotive parts for racers and serious car enthusiasts. We sell wheels, tires, suspensions, brakes and other performance accessories, with a primary emphasis on BMW’s as we begin our expansion into other European makes. We carry our own line of light weight performance wheels and accessories in addition to being a reseller of other major brands. Our Goal is to ship a high quality product with a fast order fulfillment time that meets the specific needs of our enthusiast customers.

    Job Description:
We are looking for candidates to join our team as our primary wheel/tire technician, and warehouse assistant. This listing is for a single opening that would perform both functions. Candidates would be in charge of mounting and balancing low profile tires plus TPMS sensors on brand new, high cost wheels without damage, using our new Hunter Auto28 and GSP9700 RoadForce Balancer. Wheel/tire assemblies would be match mounted as needed for a proper balance. No vehicle installation or other vehicle service is required as all products are shipped to customers. When there are no tires to mount this position would be responsible for assisting with general warehouse and shipping/receiving functions. Warehouse Assistants help process daily incoming inventory, break down and sort pallets, and unload monthly freight container shipments. They pull inventory to fulfill orders, package products for shipment, and process them through our shipping software. They are also responsible for helping with inventory counts and keeping the warehouse and work spaces clean and orderly.

Because tire sales are a new addition to our service line up, tire mounting will grow from a small portion of daily work activity, to being the position’s primary responsibility over time. This position would ideally be full-time, but we will also consider part-time applicants that could convert to full time in the future. This position would report directly to the CEO, and would be working with other part-time and full-time shipping and receiving clerks as we expand. Work would be performed between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Candidates would need to be available to assist at open house events and offsite for major car shows a few times a year, which are generally held on weekends, and may include travel plus hotel stays. Additional event participation such as races and local car meets would be non-mandatory. On rare occasion you may be requested to deliver a product to a local business using either a personal or company vehicle.

If you’re a serious car enthusiast that loves to be around performance parts, race cars, and be actively involved in the automotive community, then this is the job for you. We offer unique benefits and programs for you to take advantage, plus employees have the opportunity for promotions as we continue to expand and fill higher level job openings.

    Skills & Requirements:
    • 2+ years Experience with tire mounting and balancing including TPMS sensors and run flat tires
    • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college
    • Valid CA Drivers License
    • Must be able to lift 75lbs
    • Willingness to work on weekends when needed
    • Experience with shipping and receiving preferred
    • Familiarity with BMW wheel/tire fitments and general performance parts familiarity a plus

    Benefits and Compensation
    • $10-15 an hour depending on experience
    • Health Insurance for full time employees
    • Employee discounts
    • Sponsorships/subsidies for HPDE and autocross event registration fees
    • Eligible for SEMA College Grant and loan forgiveness program
