like others stated, selling the car AS IS mean shit. if the car was NOP its a different story. the buyer can come back and make you pay for a new cat, ects. buyer can take you to court for repair bills. you as a seller will have to provide a smog certificate if not sold as a NOP.

Wow this thread got big... For the record, no smog church was ever completed. I called the DMV in California, explained my situation and was told I would NOT need a smog check. The car was being exported outside of the state so I'm required to meet Utah's registration requirements, not California's.
Here, in order to register the car I have to get a safety check with an emissions test.Newb to all the things.Comment
