    Help installing engine and transmission?

i have a 1987 325is that needs a new motor and while im swapping the motor im doing the auto to manual trans swap. does anybody who has done this before want to help me do it?
ive got pretty much everything i need and if i dont have it, i can order it. i may even consider paying you to use the space and for the instruction.

I could use the help as my dad (one reason I bought a BMW) is too busy to help me.
    Help for a ??

im pretty close to you... I havent swapped engines on an E30 yet, but I have done the auto to manual swaps. I'm also not an idiot and follow written instructions very closely.
Do you have garage space? or need to use someones?
I may be able to help ya out, send me a PM and let me know

Seriously though, everyone's got to start somewhere. Just start taking shit apart and see how it goes. Try to be as hands on as you can and possibly get another forum member with more knowledge to oversee your work more than help you do it.

I can come give you on whatever, except sexual stuff lol. I'm local. I have swapped an engine but it was an m42. How much harder can an m20 be??? But do you have a hoist? Tools and space?

^ true story. with a hoist, would have had it done in a fraction of the time.

I don't have a cherry picker. i don't have really any space to do it either. I'm confident I could do the motor swap as it is plug and play. Its the auto to manual trans swap I'm not sure about.
