unrelated to FWD mistakes, can someone suggest a good local place to fix curb rash on some wheels?
Wheel Techniques is known to do good work (friend got euroweaves redone there a few years back), but you may also want to check out the Rodoni Brothers (RMS Fender Rolling). They do powder coating of wheels and parts, but they should be able to fix rash as well. My friend has had good luck with them and fairly speedy turnaround time as well. They've been doing it for a little while now. Long enough that Baye30 was still functioning at the time.............boy has time gone by!

Eric, the VW is a sad car to any automotive enthusiast. Doesn't mean it isn't reliable or cheap to maintain, just that it makes a car guy sad to drive it. It doesn't matter what we all think, it's your ride. Just don't expect not to get flamed on a bmw car enthusiast forum okay babe?

I had one. SHITTT interior materials, terrible electronics, not very reliable and mpg is really not all that great.

My favorite thing about newer VW's is the plastic EVERYTHING in the cooling system.

I had to replace a plastic coolant tube thing on my wifes mk4 beetle, it was leaking coolant like crazy.

Do these guys straighten bent wheels? I have a BBS RK wheel that needs to be straightened. There isn't a mark on the wheel, but its so bent that it vibrates at 60mph.

re: VWs: My coworker, who I commute with from Emeryville to San Carlos, had his mk4 Jetta 8v wagon shit the bed on him last month, and ended up in a lease for a new Golf TSI. 1.8 turbo. It's really not a bad car, on initial purchase. Hoping he lets me drive it home sometime soon.

Picked up a Hartge strut brace today. That combined with the Race springs I secured last month and the Koni's I will be getting later this month and I will be really close to having a reasonable suspension setup.
