Norcal: Looking for a paint job!

    Yes, that's right.
Looking for an affordable, but good, paint job for my Peugeot sedan.
Looking to get er' done in 1476 Peugeot Red Metallic...that's my only request.

The car is currently getting the rear end fixed, getting some dents pulled and some rust fixed...
but that shops wants a lot of money for a complete paint job so I figured I'd see whats up with r3v.

    Support a local r3v business? ;)

Why not just go with that guy Jesse who does them for $800 or whatever.

Although i think that price is specifically for e30's.

Yes it's specifically for E30's, however he might give you a decent quote. BTW the $800 is just for the paint. Door jams are $150, color sanding and buffing is like an extra $200-well worth it. And I'm sure there's some other variables, don't expect a $800 quote. Just mention you're on R3V and a part of the e30 community and see if he can work a deal.

I don't think the 505 is much larger, paint surface area wise, than the E30.
Also, the color I want it painted is this original color that appears on the jambs, so all is gut with that.

your car chassis is unique enough to warrant special attention. you should read up on oliver's paint thread before you even take your first step at a paint shop. that way you have a better grasp of the process and whether or not it aligns with your goals. if you want garage queen status, prepare to spend at least 1.5 to 2gs depending on how much work you pitch in. $800 will only get you (as I would say ) DD status and that is if you are lucky it comes out like that.

I press a lot of interesting questions that might be dismissed or neglected by the customer.

Check Bay Auto Body (B.A.B) in San Carlos. Look for Jose and tell him Marvin sent you. He has done a lot for me and has decent prices.

Close to San Mateo, gotta check him out.
Also, the guy doing my bodywork quoted me $2000 for fixing all dents, surface rust, and doing a complete paint job in original Peugeot Rouge Amaryllis. Yay?

                  Just figured I'd my hw.

Also forgot to add, my car is gonna be basically prepped already.
Doing a lot of body work as we speak, but need to track down a rust free trunk from a rarer turbo car.

so you are going to sand and primer the car up?

The car is currently at the shop and since it's getting the whole new rear quarter, it will be already left in primer and then they are going to remove the windshields, cut/weld out the rust, so we've got a lot of more primer/dent repair... :D

                          Hay Bay Area. :D
Still looking for a shop to paint my car, and repair the minor surface rust around the f/r windshields, and very few parking lot dings around the car.

PM/reply here with your shop/place info, I'm ready to drive out this week to get it checked out.
