Uh...guys, cool the rage. The US was a net EXPORTER of oil last year and this year. Proof: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-0...r-in-2011.html

Aka....we do not import most of our fuel. This current price jump is due to a problem in a socal refinery and another problem in one of the Bay refineries. It'll go down once supply increases.

You also have to remember that the oil companies are heavily taxed by the state of California for emissions bull shit. If you really want to lower the prices at the station by a lot, the state would have to lower or remove the tax.

And, to add further insult to injury, the gas formulation used in CA is entirely different to that in other states, so when two CA refineries have issues, CA prices will jump.

Tell me what the oil pipeline and a new refinery have in common? Thats why they want a new pipeline, because the refineries are on the Gulf Coast. Ever heard of cancer alley? Thats where they want to ship the Canadian oil. And then send it to China and India. All this stuff is easy to find out. GOP tv (fox news) just wont tell you this stuff.
sorry, but you started off with 'busch' being in office, so i stopped reading.
