Need a driveway

I have an engine hoist and most of the tools (theyre scattered everywhere though)
If you want and can get everything over here I can help, my driveways is kinda filled but I wouldn't mind pushing my e30 out of the way or we can do it in the street.

i more than likely skim through the thread but i read OPs first post, all i say is

your neighbor is jelly, why does working on your car set him off? is it the amount of noise youre making? or is it an eye sore to him? cuz honestly he seems to be one of those asshole neighbors

let him bitch about it, youre working on your car on your property which im sure about, you're not bugging him in anyway, other neighbors of yours dont complain about what you do AFIAK, he just wants shit his way.

keep doing what youre doing, theres NO RULE stating you cannot work on your car in front of your house as long as youre not causing any problems its all good

was actually thinking of backing into his driveway (has a long driveway[of course]) and leaving a nice thick 11 once this build gets done right before i move..

on a more real note, things got a bit held up yesterday, was supposed to pick up this car, turns out my AAA account was expired so i had to renew it but that took all day and i work for the rest of the week... so NEXT WEEK.. let me know if we can work something out, whenever and wherever is available (now that i have 100 mile towing and i know it..)

You guys just need chill neighbors like mine. My car was out on the street disassembled for almost 2 months. Instead of calling the cops or getting upset, they asked how the repairs were going and even helped with some of the heavy lifting.

3 days is the law in California. They are supposed to chalk the tires. Just grab a scrub brush and wash it off.

Never even chalked the tires, this isnt what the problem is. its fucked up but at the end of the day they ticketed me for not moving for three days in a car i DRIVE around the neighborhood in every 2 days.. funny they havent even said anything about the e30 and it has no motor, trans and half the front end is disassembled internally.

what do you need to do?

put my motor in, just waiting to get the crank balanced and polished and it will be bolted together that night, then i'll need to put it in the car, which is where the problem arises.

Sorry for my ignorance, but you're not allowed to work on a car in the street?? I knew the 72 hour parking thing, but I didn't know you couldn't work on it in front of your own house (or anyone else's because it's a public road).

You can work on your car just need to clean up before cerfew, which is 10pm.
I use to work outside of house all the time and cops drive by (cuz lived by police station and school) they never said anything. As long as your respectful they don't fuck with you. Just clean up.

Not in orange county or in a private community. I hear they can give you a ticket in orange county for working on your car in your driveway too. Or having a car parked for too long and looking not new.

Yeap Orange county is very anal about having cars worked on any where :/ and also having parked cars on your driveway even if you own the house .. they consider it an abandoned vehicle and will be given a ticket or can get the car in pounded :/

I just went through the same thing .. i got a letter that i had 3 days to turn in my keys from the town home i live in .. had to tow my car out and its just sitting at work for now.. had to talk to the manager in order not to get kicked out .. sucks not having a Garage to actually work at ...
