Welcome to Cali by the end of the month. I don't know much about Portland, but from what I read, there are similar cultures that exist around the LA area; mostly track bikes and cars as a whole.

I graduated from CSUN (http://bit.ly/YTGl2g lol) and from what I remember towards the end of Spring until the beginning of Winter, it's hella hot out there and I'd rather live on the Westside/SouthBay area.

Keep your guard up when you're out here and know your rights as usual. You may find that there are plenty of characters that can be challenging to trust haha. Enjoy!
