I've never seen a cracked M20 block before. How do you know it's cracked? Did you remove the head?

I have in my possession a cracked m20 block, so yes it can happen I suppose, but its the first and only one Ive ever seen...

I just pulled an eta engine from a customer's car. Rebuilt cylinder head early this year. New seals, timing belt and water pump. Let me ask him and see how much he wants to sell it.
