Move to lake elsinore. Rent is cheap and meth is plentiful. At least the beach is a 30 minute drive through Ortega highway. E30s love ortega.
You could rent a solid house for 1400.Leave a comment:

Unless you got money in the bank stay away from manhattan beach
If you want to stay by the coast check out the whole South Bay Area(Torrance,Carson, lomita, redondo beach, gardena) you might find something in your price range with a garage especially if splitting rentLeave a comment:

I still rent because, I refuse to move to the gehtto to buy a house I can afford. Just so o can be a prisoner in my own home.
$2100 rent + parking spaces + storage + utilitiesLeave a comment:

Anyone care to share what they're paying for rent and where? I'm honestly looking for smaller places, I wouldn't be bringing much out (my bed, futon/couch, TV and a few shelves+ two bikes), actually looking forward to purging a lot of the useless crap I've acquired living in a large space.Leave a comment:

Not at all. I came looking for the truth, good or bad, haha. Also this is why I'm looking into it first rather than diving head first. Something keeps you people there. I'm also not dead set on living right near the beach, have been looking inland and away from the major part of the city.
I love California, and I love my friends and family, but never again. Hope you're not a gun owner lolLeave a comment:

I meant that as in "if you're looking for any job/anything available" it will fucking suck. You're a prime example because, there's lots of us out here, looking for the same thing, therefore, making the pool of applicants bigger and less likely to get a job.Leave a comment:

Didn't have a job, couldn't find a job, and anything I did come across was temporary or didn't pay enough to live on.Leave a comment:

Born and raised in SoCal, abandoned ship two years ago. I miss my friends, but I don't miss California. I don't miss the ridiculous car registration prices, the ridiculous living prices, the ridiculously shitty job market. I miss my friends and family. If I could move them all to Arizona I would.
tl;dr: don't do it.Leave a comment:

Thanks for the real low down. I'm acutely aware of many of the realities however at this point in my life if I stay put because it's the "safe" thing to do I will likely go crazy. I'll take the risk, if I run my savings dry, not to sound arrogant but my family will do what they can to help. If I hate it, I'll move back. What's the worst that can happen? I find a good job, I love the weather and I make a nice fresh start for myself? Or I end up right back where I am with some life experience. Why the hell not?
Yes, SoCal is pretty bad ass and, as a life experience....... It'll be one to tell your grandkids about. ;)Leave a comment:
