free advice: lots of san jose is turning into a shithole, because the mayor gutted the police's pension program and a third of the force said "well fuck you, we'll go be police elsewhere."

look a little farther north, like around palo alto; very nice area there.

if you really don't want to deal with that much of a commute, focus on cupertino or los gatos.
