    Valve Spring Compressor to Borrow

Im taking apart my cylinder head for a rebuild at the moment, and I can't get my hand on a valve spring compressor. Im not up for spending 140$ for something I'm going to use twice.

Does anyone in the Bay area have one they would be willing to loan me?

    Thanks for your time.

There is a quick and dirty way for taking it apart with just a spark plug socket(perferably with magnet) and hammer, just set ontop the the retainer and give it a smack. Watch for flying keepers, if you don't have a magnet version maybe some grease would catch them.

Putting it together would take a compressor, usually the big auto part stores have tool loaning programs.

I checked with all of the auto stores I could think of in my area (Kragen, NAPA, PepBoys, etc.). None of them carry the big c-clamp style spring compressor, only the small one the hold onto the spring. I tried using that one with no luck.
