Miller Performance coming to LA for tuning

    Hey guys,

Just a heads up we will be back at Castro's in LA from The 10th of Feb to however long we need to be there. If you want to get an in person tune done on the dyno, let me know. If you have our MAF already and want an in person tune obviously, we can do that too, whatever your needs are.

We are looking for an M30B35 on this trip since we have to change our MAF sensors slightly. If you have a clean e30 swapped M30 or an e34 M30B35, let me know. I can get you a special deal on the new MAF and an in person dyno tune.

In person tunes start at 300 for N/A and 650 for boosted plus the dyno time. Most tunes take less than an hour.

      Yeah.

And $650 plus dyno time that takes less than an hour? You and Dan should research what the going rate is around LA/OC.

We feel that is what out expertise for the stock ecu is worth. A trip to LA is not free and for what we do and accomplish its very fair. Especially since buying a good GENERIC base tune from any other legit vendor is 650 for a boosted application IS the going rate i don't see how this is unreasonable.

Mmm, no I beg to differ. All those base tunes that are north of 650, or so, usually come with injectors or the required MAF to operate which is then understandable.
When I needed my Megasquirt tuned (from scratch, the car just turned on and moved) for my F/I M20, it was just a tit over half of what you're offering (the $650, dyno time was included) - same with a few of my 24v turbo and M20 turbo friends.

I just don't know how you'll be able to hook up a car and tune all perimeters in under an hour and charge $650 +dyno time is all ($1000?).

AK show me a tuning package for the stock ECU for under 1k for all the things needed. Any package that has MAF, injectors, tune and support are 1200+

An hour of dyno time at castro's is 120. I don't know why you are complaining since you aren't even needing anything from us. We get the prices we ask because people value our reputation and skills. After all we've made some of the highest HP on an OBD1 bmw, 751HP to be exact. Our buddy Jordan at RK Tunes is the only other respected tuner to repeatedly hit that power + and he charges pretty much the same prices when he comes out. Hell if any of us come out for ONE car its $1200.....

I did say north of $650 + whatever dyno time was. Last time my friend was asked to pay for dyno time after his tune, it was $300 so that's where I generated that number from. But, cool, $120! Okay!
I actually also had your stuff for my m20 and needed PLENTY from you guys, and had to switch to MS after problems and emails that didn't get responded to - Dan tuned it himself at Castro's as well a few times and I was never satisfied or able to get revisions. So yeah, I'm sorry too that I had to pay an amount that I still don't believe is justified for repuatable tuning and mediocre service. That's why I'm complaining.

AK, fair enough. Just for my knowledge, what is your name so I can look up emails to see where I dropped the ball or Dan if you were dealing with him. Also, did you have a WAR chip or a normal chip? Again just curious so I can see why WAR chip revisions weren't sent if you did have a WAR chip that is.
