i have a '92 cabrio with the factory electric top ... my microprocessors on both motors need to be re-synced ... i'm hoping that someone here in the bay area knows of a knowledgeable technician who specializes in working on the rare electric tops ... i appreciate any help that can be thrown my way ... thanks

I must have read these instructions 100 times and finally got my top working after PO said it never worked on my 93 e30

yep ... those are the same instructions that i tried to visualize & perform, htseng ... in fact ... i tried those same instructions when keith first started the e30ic site years ago but to no avail ... it was an exercise in frustration ... plus having another patient set of hands to help work both motor engagements at the same time was hard to find ... i'd like to learn how to do it by finding a qualified technician & watch over his shoulder ... if i could actually watch the procedure one time, i'm sure i'd be able to handle it solo in the future ........

When I was in the boat, it did take a few times ~20...but it did finally work.

What i recall doing was trying multiple times. But each time with the engine running or the key to accessory position. Otherwise no power to any of the motors or microswitches tp activate. Once activated by turning the allen key, there is a click. I don't remember that being in the instructions

thanks for the input ... much appreciated ... until i get this all sorted out, is there a simple way to just get the top boot motor to work? ... i've been driving around for 3 years with the motor detached & not clamped down ... & ... consequently ... i always expect my wind screen to be gone when i return to my car ... boot lid could be raised & windscreen snatched within 5 seconds with one hand .......
