Anyone have any affordable e30 repair shops in LA

When I had my e30 about 8 years ago or so I never had a chance to find a reputable repair shop that doesnt charge a large amount for such small jobs.
I dont have the place or resources to do most things I would like to do myself.

what exactly is a large amount for a small job?

You should really consider figuring out how to tackle some basic stuff yourself. Taking an e30 to a decent shop is going to burn your wallet over the years.

example: i purchased pads and rotors, i was quoted 200 bucks for labor.

That's about right. Shops make money on parts, so if you bring your own they're going to hike up the labor. They have to keep their doors open.

Investing in basic tools will pay for themselves over and over again doing stuff like brakes.

Yeah, book time on brakes is usually somewhere around .75 to 1 hr per axle, assume a labor rate of $100-125/hr (which is pretty normal in California) that comes out to about $200.

either DIY or pay to play. $200 for a brake job is normal.

See Johnny at TwoTwelve Body and Resto in Ojai since your in Ventura. He's my good friend and has many E30's, likes working on them and has a lift and tools to do just about anything, although he is a bodyshop. He will hook you up and is fair with pricing.
But like everyone else said, shops charge to stay in business so be ready to pay or do it yourself.

Definitely want to learn to work on most of the stuff yourself or else youre going to go to the shop on a monthly basis. Recently discovered this AWESOME place called Your Dream Garage in Baldwin Park, $25 an hour and they have every possible tool you would need, plus a professional lift so jobs that would take an hour or two in the driveway with jack stands, take 20 minutes here.

However, if you want a shop, Steve's Muffler in Atwater/Glendale. Guy has a small garage so he gets backed up pretty quick but when you pull up, the whole area is covered in e28 and e30s. Knows what he's doing and costs are completely reasonable.
