    Norcal wrenchers?

I know there's a few of you out there.

I've got some work to do on the E30 and just had knee surgery so I'm not going to tackle it.
    I know I need to:
    • replace front subframe
    • replace oil pan gasket. It could be the main seal leaking as well but gotta check the pan first.
    • replace PS hoses and possibly rack

I'm thinking about selling the car in the near future and I don't feel like spending a fortune at a shop.

I'm in the east bay but willing to drive it up to Sac if I have to, though I'd rather not go far on this subframe.

    Let me know. Thanks.

In case this wasn't clear, I'm not asking for free/charity work here, I'm willing to pay a fair rate. The garagistic reinforced subframe looks pretty good at $260.

I'm wondering how common a broken subframe is on a stock E30 with the M20. Seems like most often it's on cars with upgraded engines?

Yeah, it seems common. I actually started doing this project (bum knee and all) and one tab was broken clear off, the other was horribly welded in the past. Subframe is out, rack is out, waiting on parts to get it all back together.

ireland engineering makes a weld-in subframe reinforcement kit. used it on the aforementioned last car to prevent the problem from recurring.
