I'm wondering if I should strike up a rwdrift style fundraiser or something.

Well what are you short on? Do you need to not miss work? Or is it just mostly the gas/food money you can't swing? There wont be really any money for motels or anything like that since we'll be bunking with forum friends. How short are you on what? Can't hurt to let us know, who knows what might be able to be worked out.

The issue is pretty much gas and food, yes. [And let's not forget beer].

Considering I got 275 miles out of a tank of gas towing the trailer to Bimmerfest and back I would have to spend at least $450ish in gas for this road trip to WA and back. Assuming I work out my o2 sensor issue [since I don't think it's working] I should get better mileage than that but who knows.

Work is no issue since I only work very part time.

I agree, that is a hell of a lot of money. Gas is not cheap by any means, and two years ago I still managed to spend about 200 bucks in gas to go up and back just from Petaluma. Not to mention all the stuff I did to my car right before and the new tires I had to put on.

Anyway, I have no problems chipping in. I don't know how much I could commit to, but if you do whatever you can, I don't think I would be all alone willing to help. It is what it is, and its all good with me. You want to go, and if its tight, that's what makes things go round if someone can help another. That and only Clay and I wouldn't be quite as much of a caravan. A little more exciting and more fun, and might bring some more socal e30's out of the wood work.

I vote for a "let's get matt to the picnic fund."

I will put in some $$ because I want this fucking BBQ-on-wheels for the stops/parties on the way up goddamnit.

It's about $500 round-trip if our numbers are correct.

What do you guys think? Matt says he is NOT gonna ask this of anyone cause it's a handout, but we all know it would be sik to have MR325 and the trailer there. Is this worth trying for? 3 weeks to make it happen.

I know he didn't straight up ask, he made it clear that he probably wouldn't do it himself and halfway jokingly suggested something like what rwdrift put together. I offered something without any strings, and if he wants to go, and we have a way to put it together, then he should. :hitler:

Thats how I see it.

so most likely we are staying with Mot or somethin in the Portland area on Friday? Then driving up to northern WA on Saturday for some possible pre-picnic evening fun?

                  ...

Yes, as far as I am concerned I have not heard any qualms with what I outlined in the first post. We'll be sleeping over at Mot's place Friday night, then hanging out most of Saturday, or at least t he morning and early afternoon and likely driving into Tacoma I think Saturday afternoon/evening.

Excellent. What's the estimated drive time from Mot's to our stay in WA?

Yeah, I think the plan is that there's supposed to be some kind of meet/BBQ/drive in WA that afternoon/evening, so I definitely want to leave Portland at a reasonable hour.

3 hours going max of 10 over (flow of traffic).

1-2pm leave Portland? Depends when the drive is, if that's part of the plans. Perhaps earlier I guess.
