Well it's nice we have some interest still, thanks for the bump. I'm having some trouble figuring out who can go, and the locals that want to go don't want to leave really early in the morning so I guess I can just do a poll either in a thread or via PM's, what times and places would be best for everybody. It just kind of fizzled out because it just seems everybody else is planning to just go with the huge caravan down there, which I'm not down with. Some people that have posted here have told me without myself actually saying anything about times or places, that they're just going to be leaving and heading down when they feel like it and we/I can catch up later if wanted. So I dunno what the hell the deal is.

Getting to the point if this is going to happen I'm going to need confirmed interest, but only after I ask those who have split away what their plan is and get an idea where we should stop and when. It's just unfortunate that the baybimmerz caravan conveniently hits the most obvious stops along the way down there. Gilroy InnOut, Atascadero (sp) InnOut, then SB. I suppose we could plan on going down a little later, by an hour or two than them in order to have clear roads and stop at the same places, or I'm going to need some suggestions where may be a good spot to meet the bay area contingent at. Somewhere in/near Gilroy would be best, then somewhere half way between Gilroy and SB for a short break for food or anything, and maybe to top off tanks.

I was just thinking about this thread yesterday, it really is a good idea I think. I didn't get much assistance from those who I asked on AIM to plan it out.

I know a few local PDX swapped e30's are heading down Thursday, and the rest of the way Friday. Dont quite know what their plans are. Would be nice to conjoin the two groups maybe.

i made a thread on teh local e30 forum awhile ago, bay area guys are planning on meeting up @ gilroy around 10am. thats about 2 hours later than the huge baybimmerz caravan. i dont see any reason to meet as early as they do, however we still want to get going in the AM if possible. Justin, you guys could leave at like 8ish now instead of like 5 or 6am. we should really plan on meeting up there, its a good meeting spot to start the drive down the 101.

              heres the meet spot:

I was thinking of heading to Redding on Wednesday, Redding to the Bay Area on Thursday and finally arrive in Santa Barbara on Friday. I'll adjust if we can agree on a PDX crew plan -- I don't want to drive solo.

Where are you staying Curt? I'm staying at the Motel 6 in Santa Barbara.

Cary - Got it. I don't mind leaving a little later. I just want to make sure everybody that wanted to go down with us rather than the baybimmerz caravan can agree on a time. A little later isn't bad I suppose.

Ill update my first post in a little while, but essentially as far as we're concerned for those of us who posted that were interested here in this thread the meet spot will be at InNOut (thats where I would have wanted to be anyway, but my timing overlapped with baybimmerz...) at 10:00-10:30. Leaving at 10:30 on the dot. Once again it's probably one of the better scoped out spots to stop half way, at the Atascardero InNOut. The drive to that one is about 2 hours, and by then people may be getting hungry so instead of having to wait long for people to show up, it's a good lunch spot. Figure arrive at ~12:30 or a pinch earlier, and leave at 1:00 or by the time everybody is ready to leave.

I'll also be PMing those who have expressed interest in the next day or so to update with this information...

Looks like I'm going to caravan with the Seattle bimmer crew. I'm pretty sure that their planning to hook up with the Bay Area Bimmerz in Gilroy on Friday before heading to Santa Barbara.

Cary, I like you idea about merging our various PNW/NorthBay/SouthBay R3V mini-groups in Gilroy.

ATTN PNW CREW: do you guys wanna stay in NorCal near Justin/TJ/Me(Clay) when you come down on Thursday night? This was the idea Justin and I threw around months ago. Who is down? I CANNOT provide accommodations like last year, but still... you guys should come stay around here. I would have opened up my house, but I just had more of my family move in. Cheap hotels here, decent/good night-life. Good spot to leave from to meet up with the South Bay R3V caravan.

Let's here it. About a month to go and ticking!!

Yes, that's the idea :) I've been really slacking, more concentrating on finding parts and stuff for my plastic swap. I'll update the thread now...
