Holy shit no way!!! I cant believe my M3 wasnt popped. If they even SMELLED my exhaust they would have pulled me. It smells like 101 octane wherever I go. Taillights, headlights, front plate, etc. Wow I am lucky sometimes.

Now... my two issues with how it went down at Bimmerfest were the cops scouting for wrong things in cars by driving INSIDE the polo field. And the fact that the cops pulling people over on the streets were CHPs. I don't know much about Cali, but in FL, a state trooper has no jurisdiction as soon as you touch an off-ramp.

But besides that, Bimmerfest was a blast. I had a great time meeting new people.... but a damn shame that I didn't realize who a few of them were until I started seeing pictures of who is who around here.

My highlights were definately the BMW 507, Groma's e30s (the M30 and M62 monster) and the white e30 coupe with BBS CH's (fell in love with the stance/wheels).

Had a great fun time. Maybe next year I'll take a car there?

Youre welcome! jk. CHP has jurisdiction in the whole state of California. Trust me I know this from experience.

I had a blast as usual. Im sorry if I wasnt very social, I had court ALL DAY Friday and didnt sleep well on top of having a mean cold AND getting over a few other personal issues.

We might've met :p I just didn't know who was who, but I know I spoke to a lot of e30 guys. I recognized some of the big norcal guys, but other than that, I spoke to a lot of e30 owners and didn't know who was who really :p

I was the one in the brown shirt. :)

Oh, and thanks to Jesse for the beers @ Bfest. :D

Ya, the guy that pulled me over was actually a CHP officer and my friends who were in the car with me were wondering if he had jurisdiction. They said that maybe since I was on a parallel road right next to the highway, they have jurisdiction there also, but I'm really not sure. Does anyone know for sure?

Aww god damnit. I wanted to meet you Erick.

But yea, I agree with Erick. Cops shouldnt be scouting inside an event and I thought that CHP couldnt pull people over unless it was a highway.

Do we have any police/chp officers on here? I know one guy is training to be CHP. Maybe he can shed some light on the subject...

Also, maybe after that expirence someone might not come back next year and spend $400 on motels and resturants I'm sure the small buisnesses wouldn't like that much.

I don't know if it's ok for cops to hang out in front of an event like this and harass people, we should complain to the event organizers so they can make a formal complaint.

That is so fucking gay. This is why cops get such a bad rap among car groups; they line up and just wait to bust you for something, anything, things that they would never normally pull you over for. For god's sake, you were waiting in line to get in to a car show; does it really have any effect on anyone if you don't have a front plate? I'm really sorry to hear that. Normally I try to have the utmost respect for the law and those that put their lives at risk to uphold it. But shit like this pisses me off.

ya, i babied the car down to SLO and put some JB weld on top of the leak and it plugged it up. I'm going to replace the gasket and do a full coolant flush sometime this week.
