    Socal Re-reupholsterer

Hey guys, I have some vinyl sport seats and realize it is near impossible to find mint condition black leather sport seats for an e30, so I am looking to get mine re-upholstered to leather. Does anybody recommend a specific place? I'm looking for as cheap as I can get, for the best quality I can get.

Basically what I am looking to have done is have the vertical stitching, without the piping so that the bolsters look like they are from a cabbie, as seen here:

Joe's upholstery in El Monte. I used him and he's great, great price, and great great quality. He did nice work in my car for an amazing price and a nice guy. Tell him that the guy in the old white BMW sent you.

Any idea his price to do a job described above?

If i call him and say I want e30 sport seats re-upholstered with vertical stitching, but vert bolsters, will he know what I'm talking about?

I got a quote from Jim's Auto Upholstery for $750 for just the front seats.... wow! I know that's pretty standard but it's still a lot of money

That's a very good price considering that a pair of good condition used ones are $500 or so.

Leather is expensive. Go with vinyl if you want to cut the price way down.

I got my work custom front and back seats and he even did the rear of the front seats for 700. I think thats an amazing price. He also did it in the color stitching I wanted and redid the ebrake and shift boots. I also got the M/Cabrio horizontal stitching.

edit: he knows me though so offer 750 for front and back seats and he should be able to do it.
