I am down for 5am due to the fact that I will be driving from Orange County and will probably have to leave around 10pm on thursday just to make it to you guys on time.

Damn, that is cutting it SHORT. You know, I get 20mpg and it's got a 10-11gallon tank ARGH.

What is the plan for driving back? I need to schedule time off from work still...

I'll have to be back early tuesday morning, so I'll be leaving WA on monday. We could always make 3 stops for gas.

Soooo I have a month to pull my m52 head, port it, finish porting my obd2 manifolds, buy and install s52 cams, oh yeah not to mention actually put all this shit together in the car that is still m20-complete :) I dont think Im going in my own car =(

Jean, what are you driving with a 10-11 gallon tank? I figured all e30s would have a similar tank, and I know mine is around 15-16 gallons dry...

So I checked with someone at PIR and there are some motorcycle races going on the Saturday morning of the Tech day... They say admission into PIR is $10... not free like the races we saw last year. I Think Clavin has a good idea of meeting at Shari's for breakfast again this year. The lot was big enough to hold us all, and they didn't seem to mind us there, hell most people even ate that morning, they made money out of the deal.

S50/2 cams are still not here, weeks are passing by without my car in my shop to tear down and rebuild. It is to the point now I'd need to officially get the lease and my car into my shop this coming weekend if i wanted any sort of chance to build my swap in a single week to go. I have my doubts that Ill have enough time after work the next two weeks to:

Jumpstart car and pull it into my shop. Remove M20, trans, DS and once-over the engine bay to prepare for the m52. Cart my m52 down to Novato from Petaluma, hopefully with my cams I havent gotten yet, and all of its gaskets. Tear down and clean all that I can and regasket it while converting it to OBD1 from all the donor parts I'm pulling from my m50. I modified the m50 harness for the e30 plug, no adapter. While the engines out put my 95 m3 rack in with the PS delete block. Modify e30 Trans bracket still, and while I'm putting everything back in, rebuild my shifter with my x5 lever. Try to put everything back together quick. Get a TRM or WAR chip. Drive.
<2 weeks, without proper access to my car. Sorry if I'm pessimistic :P

OK I know a little more now, or well, something actually has moved along enough for me to continue the swap, and I am going to need some extra hands in on this with me if I want any chance of making this trip.

I forked over my half of the rent and deposit today and Jon will be writing the lease tonight. I want my car in the shop tomorrow. I might be able to get a lot of the parts off or disconnected tomorrow if I coordinate some tools getting there...Im buying s50 cams with trays and still need a chip. Gdamnit. And exhaust, but I have that covered, sort of, enough to patch, make the trip and come back to build a real one to ref.
