And thats being conservative. Im with ya Bill. I had approx 40-50k into my old swapped e30 and paint was never done. New and OE are not cheap.

    Well, I have $90,000 into my M3.

Lets talk figures: 11,000 for a very basic run of the mill 2.5L longblock, 3500 for the head/valves, 3500 for labor to assemble, 4000 for various firewall forward parts and labor. So $21,000 for a BASIC build S14.

You want horsepower and MAF/Alpha N, large cams, you are looking at 25,000 to 35,000. Have you priced out a set of 4 high compression balanced pistons/rods for an S14? It will make you weak in the knees:) Add on a set of 48mm throttle bodies or slide throttles from Germany.

10,000 for good quality paint job. Add on Body work.
3500 for new front bumper/Splitter/rear wing.
5,000 for good barely used suspension.
    1500 for new rear diff.
    1500 for control arms
    1500 for oil pan
    3-400 for oil pump
    800 for driveline
New M5 oil cooler and lines.
    Don't forget complete new bushings/powdercoated subframes/welding toe/camber adjusters/new wheels/Rollbar/ Complete new interior etc.

    The list goes on.

I have all receipts. PM me and come up to my house for beer and BBQ and we'll go over them:) Serious invitation! I always love talking S14's/M3's!

Then you can come on here and call BS if you still feel that way.;-)

A knock-off of the carbon fiber airbox is over $1000. The factory unit (which I think that was) is MUCH more expensive. And that is just one piece.

The S14 is not a cheap engine. The block alone is worth well over $5k these days because they are in short supply.

With all the factory-original rare bits on that car, I can easily see it being over $100k. He wouldn't be able to sell it for that, but to get it there? Easily.

Looks like it was a lot of fun, wish I could have made the whole way. I was really looking forward to going for the first time.
The only picture that includes my car, doesn't even show my car :(
One day ill get a rolling shot, just like the cool kids.

SSR competitions or type c's is what they are called. Great lightweight wheel. The original ones are better than the later ones as SSR sold to tire rack and the quality went down hill. Some speculation says this wheel is what killed SSR as the technology was expensive but sales were lackluster. I've had three sets, and still have one set.

Find them used on eBay and forums is your best best. They were 350-400 a corner new if my memory serves me right.

I saw two sets of these wheels at the picnic, probably the ones i liked best out of all of them, but thats just my taste, and price range. However I have no clue what they are, all i know is that they are SSR's. Type C's maybe? I don't know the owner of this car, just the only car out of two that had them at the picnic.

i know someone will know, thanks

also not my pics (if not obvious)

Just for the record he's not running Alpha-N, he's on a Miller MAF setup. Basically a plug and play. And I did speak to, I believe his name is Erik, at the picnic, he's an old Hot Rod guy. If anyone knows hot rod guys they typically go all out. He didn't cut any corners, and plus if you buy factory parts they are much more expensive than others. You could easily bury yourself in your car. I don't doubt his pocket book expense. After all he did let me borrow his $8k camera setup he was rolling with.
