NJ: Need a good shop in the Atlantic City area

So, ever since I got in a little (big) accident in my moms TSX, she has been driving my convertible.

Now ever since she has been driving my convertible, things have been going wrong. (DO not let women drive cars, especially ones that have quirks).

First, she managed to make it so the windows didn;t work. I told her about the button on the dash that cuts power, but she still couldn't figure it out..
Also, she managed to have the car;s starter die, which we then replaced...

Next, the radio died. It worked fine when I drove it, but within one week of her driving, I now get no sound from any band. I have not tried a cassette yet.

Finally, when she was in AC the other day, she heard a weird smell (and supposedly saw smoke) so they pulled over. Then the car would not restart. So I;m not sure what the problem is, but I will need to drive out to AC and take a look, and if I can;t fix it, I will need a shop that can

Any suggestions? THey can in the nearby area, but hopefully within 10-15 miles so the towing bill isn;t crazy.

    Thanks for any help.

No joke, especially since I am selling this car, so I don;t need these issues. Most are resolved (starter, windows, I might install a CD player (I don't like them, but future owners would appreciate it).

It just sucks to have to drive to AC, most likely find the car is fine and driveable, and then have to figure out a way to get two cars home with one driver. So then I;d prolly leave my car at our beach place, take bus from OC to AC, then drive car home and pick up other car next time I'm at the beach.

No luck? No one know a goodp lace anywhere near AC? Like 30 miles? I DO NOT want the work done at Jim's Shop or fucking MIDAS or something.....

And I do not want to pay the $250 bucks to have it towed to Phila...

Anyone live near Atlantic City with e30 knowledge want to take a look at the car with me? I've had one offer on BF.C so I figured I'd ask here. I'm more of an armchair mechanic, I know the basics and how everything works, but couldn't do more complicated work on my cars (like swap out springs or shocks).

if the starter was replaced you may want to check grounds around it. what could of happened was ground came loose and a new ground was formed in the way of burnt wire. you could check for crispy wire harness esp in the oil level sensor area.

do you have triple a? and do you know if your insurance will cover the additional towing? i know my state farm does. i guess this thread might knock some $$$$ off the vert :/

Yea I have the basic, which gets you 3 free miles then pay after that (rates just went up by a dolla recently too). I've had to tow this car from NJ before, $250, cause the ass who did my clutch decided that the driveshaft bolts didn;t need to be torqued correctly. It was a sunday night, local shops said they don't do foreign cars (what no fucking metric tools?) and I wanted it fixed for free since it was obviously that shops fault. (Just of point, it may be worth it for me to upgrade to premium, which gets you a 100 miles per year for free, that would prolly cost another $100, but would save over the cost of towing it back home).

Another thing with AAA is that my mom used them to tow the car to the MIDAS (apparantly a AAA approved repair shop, lol), so that means they can't tow the same car again from the same place. I suppose I could push the car a block down the road and say it failed there again, but my mom raised hell with the local supervisor/tower for having an attitude. I think they told her and her friend to push the car and she said they were in high heels and couldn't do it and he acted like a dick. My mom doesn't take that shit, he might be fired by now, I know she spoke with the regional director or some stuff. She was not in a good mood.
BTW, my mom is not some weird Atlantic City type person, just was trying to show a friend a more interesting time then what goes on at our place in Ocean City.

But that is a good point. I will look into that. I am going down on Friday, but we might have the mechanic check that out first. Jesus if that is the case, I owe you a hug, or some beers.

And since your local, we could do both with an e30/e28 meet in the Phila area. Lets set that up, that last one I set up was for 5/6ers and was a much older crowd. My place isn;t the best to host it, depending upon number of cars, but I'm sure we could find a spot, and then go for a nice drive. I''d love to see 5-10 e30s flying down lincoln drive, then kelly drive, Broad street, etc. Could be real cool.

Wait, I think I have state farm too, I will look into that.

At this point the vert is about to be pushed into the Atlantic Ocean. It has been the most reliable BMW I have ever owned until my mother started driving it. I mean, hell, I had my mech do a thrice over everything three weeks back when I got it inspected to make sure nothing was wrong at all, or could go wrong. I guess thats life...

Oh, and I found a German car shop in Somers Point, but thats still gonna cost me in towing fees from AC

im actually in wildwood right now for the summer lol.
in pa i have 4 e30s in the drive way at all times. few more people around me too. could set something up in a few weeks probably
youve had some bad luck with that car i take it. check the voltage on the battery if its reading ~12volts then it has to be a ground somewhere

and for the record last time i played wot a drive shaft i forgot to torque them =/ i did however catch it after i did a lil inspection after it all a week later
