    Sooo.....My ignition tumbler.......um, yeah

So of course my ignition tumbler finally had to break on me, luckily, it free spins forward and backward so I don't think I have to remove the steering column support and I can just pop it out.....I real hope.

So anyone available to run me up to Tischer Tomorrow?

Also does anyone happen to have Julien's number from the meet last week? I know he's done this on e36's before.

It happens to a lot of e36s. You should be able to wiggle it enough to get it to catch a bit.
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

yeah no amount of wiggling will get it to catch, if it doesn't catch does that mean I'm fucked?

If it helps, I still have my old car sitting at my dads work. It has all the steering/key components still in place (last time I checked). But it's prob easier to get over to Tischer.

went over this morning to check, it doesnt catch one bit. No amount of wiggling or anything. It has zero resistence, you can turn the tubler with screwdriver, another car key, house key, even your finger. Zero resistence.

IT WORKS!!!! Finally was able to get the old one out today. My buddy Zip is a honda tech but he came over and literally destroyed the cylinder form the inside out. it took a couple hours cuz it's a extreme pita. but it al works, we had to jump the battery obviously but now it's running fine. I'm so happy to finally be driving again.

The inevitable question, what will break next? That's what I'm always wondering, haha.

Oddly enough, no...........the moral is that e36s are a pos and even the bmw tech couldn't do anything about the ignition, and the honda tech took the effort to fix it regardless of the shit storm we had to go through to get it done.
