I talked with more of the MD guys. What do you think about switching the location? One of our guys lives down in California, MD which is about an hour and a half from DC, and 2 hours from Richmond. It's about the same drive from Richmond to Skyline.
Basically we would be in favor of Southern MD because we don't have to worry about cops, radar detectors, and he knows a ton of twisty back roads there. We were thinking about having a lunchtime bbq then heading out for a drive on the back roads.
What are you thoughts?

I have 2 plans for the Skyline run.
TexasTerp from R3VLimited.com Suggests.

Next is from lejeunebimmer from e46fanatics.com. He has put together this plan.
"Ok, so if that works that is a rough draft of the route that I have created. There is one little loop where 33 meets 22 that I didnt realize google was dumb and put on there, just ignore it we would just countinue on 33. I took the liberty ok choosing a meeting spot that is relatively easy to get to for all. I also took the scenic/spirited route to 33, and incorporated one little detour off of 33 up a perfect mountain road for spirited driving, but we then go back to 33. My route may be a little out of the way but I promise it is worth it. Anyways once we hit the Skylinedrive we would be on it for about 40 miles.
We would pickup I-64 East at exit 99, so please ignore the little circuit google made in there. We would take I-64 East to exit 121 (although those who want to go home could just stay on 64) where we would pickup route 20 into Charlottesville to go to South Street Brewery for lunch. There is a large parking area there which would be able to handle us. I did draw a route from 20 to the brewery.
From the brewery we would head to Pantops mountain and top off on gas (there are two stations there right across from each other and we could all exit together) We will take 250 approx. 5 miles out of C-ville and pickup route 22 and follow it back to Louisa where we would just reverse the route back to Shortpump Town center. Although for those who want to leave after lunch we will go right past I-64 on the way to 22 so they can pick it up there."
RVA Post what you think.
Also I will be having a small meet on 9OCT2010 at 4pm again at Stony point. Same as last time hang out then eat.
