Anyone try Do It Yourself Mechanics in Sterling?

This looks pretty sweet. Anyone try it?

    Hourly Rates
    $12 - Motorcycle Lift
$15 - Open Bay & Wash Bay Area
$18 - Low Rise or 2 Post Lifts
    $22 - 4 Post Lift

Anyone up for trying it this weekend? Need to get some things done on the IX...

Edit: Just called them, seems pretty straightforward. Mon / Tuesday need to reserve, then all other days are first come first serve. Fluid disposal is part of the lift rental.

what do you need done? most of the guys here have access to a lift already and the rest of them do everything on jackstands.
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

I've been meaning to go by and play with the tire balancing machine. I have access to a friend's lift for free, though, so I won't have an enormous need for them. That said, it's a pretty reasonable and nice setup from what I've seen.

If I could find an on car balancing motor, I would buy one. I think the balancing machines are shit, actually.

That place looks pretty awesome. I wish there was something like that in my area.

I'm considering using them when I do all my shifter bushings. Considering how much of a PITA it's supposed to be I think I'd rather do it without laying on my back on the cold concrete.

The web page in the OP redirects and a couple of the online reviews seem to indicate the place has shut down. Does anyone know what the deal is here? Looking for a better place than the parking bay in front of my townhouse to do the brakes and maybe the timing belt.

They've closed. You can attend one of the National Capital Chapter DIYs and work inside if you're a BMW Club member:

Or if you have a DOD ID card privileges you can use the Auto Skills centers at one of the numerous bases in the greater DC area.

When I lived in DC, Ft Belvoir and Bolling had the shortest lines to get in.
