    Emissions in NOVa Qs.

So. Looking to maybe move to NOVa in the next year. What is the closest I can get to Alexandria w/o having to test for emissions?

None of my cars will pass as I have modified them in ways which they will not (no emissions in the 540 local, so I do what I want), and frankly, I think it's dumb, and expensive.

...but, employment opportunities may necessitate a move to NOVa, uggh....

Stay out of Nova for your health. Place sucks.

Also I think Culpepper might be as close as you can get.

Low taxes, right to work, not crowded, windy roads, no emissions.

Just alot of red necks to deal with.

I'm thinking Culpeper too. Trying to plan for the next year if the girl gets a job in Alexandria. I hate NOVa, but I figure if I can live in a place w/out emissions, I haven't truly hit NOVa in all it's liberal, hippy, emissions shit, not to mention the traffic pisses me off, so do most of the people.

Or move west of Loudoun County, to Clark Co. (Berryville) or Frederick Co. (Winchester).

Fauquier or Warrenton is the closest I think. If you know someone you can get through though... just saying.

One loophole to consider. You can still register your car in NOVA, but you can change the "garage location" to anywhere you want. If you "garage" it in a jurisdiction with no emissions testing, you are automatically exempt. I have my e30 registered in Fairfax but "garaged" down in Norfolk where I go to school. They never asked for proof of residency or anything.

^^ I was thinking that. Just posting my address @ my parents house in Augusta Co. We don't have county stickers though. Only sticker on my windshield is the state inspection sticker.
