    What's up Baltimore Crew!

Hey all, I snagged that Alpine White 318i that was on CL last week, so after wanting one for at least a decade, I'm an E30 owner. Car is good shape mechanically, but the exterior is pretty dinged up. Fog lights and lip are MIA, but it has the full tool kit and owner's manual.

It's got a little rust in the usual spots around the body (rear bumper, antenna, etc). What's a good way to stop or slow these down?

Welcome! Just picked it up? Ive seen that thing in my neighborhood a few times. As for rust, just try to sand down/ grind down all the rust then hit it with some rustoleum(or other brand) rust transformer/ blocker. Then find some white paint and go from there.

      Go here be happy!

        Welcome!
There's several products you could use for the rust. Whichever you use, sand it down very well first, to the bare metal. You could use POR15 which is basically a paint you can spray on it after you sand it down that also stops further rusting.

Congrats! I went and checked it out friday around 4 Just because it was 2 minutes from my shop. I got there around 4 talked to the guy for like 30 minutes he told me it was sold. I saw the rust but that can be fixed. The best part about the car is its a slicktop. Good luck. Send me a message if you need any parts. I have a brand new set of fogs...

Thanks, all, I'll look into the POR15. I live over by Lake Montebello, so picking it up was a bit of a drive. ill4noreason, you've got a PM.

yea atleast with a slicktop you don't even have to think about sunroof rust, rust near the drains, and clogged drains. I would do anything for a clean slicktop

Nice car, if you cannot find por15 then autozone sells product called "rustoleum rust reformer" which i think is just like por15 but slightly weaker. More importantly as devon said maintenance first.
