    Not mine, just thought I'd share the info, because I'd love to see this go towards a nice e30.

    I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

    Meh. The engine in my '04 M3 did that, and frankly, the parts laundry list to fix it was way beyond what I'd voluntarily take on. Everything that the timing chain touches needs to be replaced. The reason the valve cover is broken is because bits of the VANOS cam cog got caught in the chain and were shot around. Even after the dealer fixed it, there was plenty to doubt in that motor.

    Edit: and it took them three months to fix it, too.
    Edit2: to be clear, parts cost for fixing this motor will be pretty substantial.
