spencer, you don't need a rust-free panel OR bumper trim for rallycross, lol.....

btw, look around for used Porsche 944 (or 911) seats. They are soooo much more supportive and stiff than the e30 sport seats. I've seen pairs in poor-decent condition go for under $200....(I got mine for under $100)

only touch part is mounting them, since they sit lower than the e30 seats and need to be spaced upward with different bolt pattern. But then again you're tall, so maybe you don't need to.

oh, and you have 5 weeks or so before the season opener, so get moving!!

also, with winter winding down, keep your eyes open for people trying to unload their snow tires on the cheap. Snow tires > street tires for the clay at Summit...

I am excited. I will have some good progress this upcoming week as I start tearing it down.
I just have to get my subframe back in my other car so I can drive that one instead.

And the reason I need a trunk and rear panel is because the car just got rear ended (why I got it so cheap) and the trunk currently doesnt shut. I may hammer out the rear panel and such just to get it all to close just for the time being so I can do the first rallycross.

                    lol, you guys gonna co-drive?

also, go join the Yahoo group "wdcprorally" and they'll send you all the rallycross rules, event updates, etc. Definitely need to join that group.

I'm going to my uncle's place this weekend to look for some skidplate steel (he has a giant barn full of junk, old cars, etc). If I see more than one, I'll grab some for you too if you want.

Was gonna ask, how is rally cross organized? Is it like auto-x where you can share a car and just swap the numbers?

                          pretty much.

Like I said, join that group, and the admin will send you all the DC region rallycross rules for events (I just read them earlier tonight as a refresher)

Also suggest go over to dirtyimpreza.com forums and read the stickies in the rallycross section - alot of good advice. Alot of non-subaru guys over there.

I haven't done one in 15 years, so I'm probably not the best one to answer all your questions, lol. I'm going to be more or less a "rookie" myself this season.

yeah, no promises though. I'm just looking for some steel sheet that I'll have cut/bent to shape. No idea if he actually has any. Sometimes wish I was up near B-more, since there's alot more industrial stuff up there and probably alot easier to find some scrap pieces. Not much of that stuff here in Fairfax :(

non-sequitur - did you guys ship those sunroof parts to the right address? I'm only 60 miles from you and haven't gotten them yet for some reason!

Didn't get them out until 2 days ago a day after I shipped some wheels out. I forgot them at home when I went to ship those wheels.

Stuart had to remind me like 3 times. Ha.
