MD: Looking for someone to help me buy a car

This weekend I will be looking at an e30 in Gaithersburg, MD. This will be my first e30 so i am not sure if I will notice a problem as well as some of you can. Is anyone in the area willing to meet at the car and act as an e30 consultant of types? I will pay ~$30 which seems fair for at max an hour of work.

You should at least mention if it is an M10, M20, M42 or a swapped car. Each requires a different person to give you reliable info.

Fair enough, didn't think about that. It's a 1988 e30 vert, 325i so m20 correct?

Correct (assuming it's not swapped), also another 'vert owner might be able to point out the trouble spots with the top and guide you accordingly. Perhaps you should edit the thread title to include this.
