That's pretty much par for the course around here. Crazy money to do damn near ANYTHING. I could put a lift in my garage for the quotes I'm getting for various BMW repairs.

How much are you being quoted for the swap?
The two shops I've been referred to in the area (but have not used) are Alexandria Bavarian Service and RRT by Dulles.

i work out of a shop in alexandria and could do a 5spd swap for A LOT less than 1600!
shoot me a pm if u guys ever need alignments, tires mounted and balanced, TA/CA bushings, whatever.m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.
